Sharjah 24: The swimming team of Al Dhaid Club reaffirmed its prominent position in Emirati sports with an impressive performance at the Sharjah Distinguished Championship, which brought together top clubs from the Emirate of Sharjah in a highly competitive sporting atmosphere.

Under the guidance of the experienced coach Captain Khaled Al Murshidi, the team achieved significant success, winning in the 10-year-old and 15-year-old age categories. Swimmers Mohammed Sultan Shwein and Ali Suhail Al Ghafli topped the champions' list. 

In the 15-year-old category, swimmer Mohammed Sultan Shwein delivered an outstanding performance, earning first place and the championship trophy, thanks to his exceptional skill and focus during the competition, making him a standout athlete. 

In the younger age group, swimmer Ali Suhail Al Ghafli clinched the first-place trophy in the 10-year-old category, further enhancing the club’s reputation as a talent incubator. 

Overall, Al Dhaid swimming team secured second place in the championship's general standings with a total of 45 medals. These included 12 gold medals, 20 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals, reflecting a broad range of excellence across different categories.

Strategic vision and thorough preparation 

Mahir Al Khayal Al Tenaji, the executive director of Al Dhaid Sports Club, praised the swimmers' performance, highlighting that the achievement was the result of extensive training and the strategic plan implemented by the club's management. 

Al Tenaji stated, "The swimming team at Al Dhaid Club demonstrates immense potential every day, thanks to the continuous support provided by the club and its comprehensive training programmes. Today’s success reflects the commitment and strong will of the players." 

He added that the team's results were not only the product of individual effort but also the result of a complete system that includes effective training, technical support, and a conducive environment for improving performance. 

Excellence and a promising future 

Saeed Mohammed Bin Howayden, Chairman of Al Dhaid Club's Board of Directors, praised the exceptional efforts of the swimming team, as well as the administrative and technical staff. He emphasised that securing second place in the overall ranking and winning 12 gold medals was proof of the club's sporting excellence. 

He confirmed that the club would continue to support aquatic sports, stressing the importance of nurturing young talent to maintain excellence in future competitions. With these accomplishments, Al Dhaid swimming team has proven itself to be not only a strong competitor but also a model for preparing promising generations of athletes, ensuring that the name of Al Dhaid remains synonymous with excellence and contribution in Emirati sports.
