Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Modern Sailing Team proudly celebrated a significant accomplishment by securing a gold medal at the Asian Open Championship, which took place in Hainan, China, from 12 to 20 December 2024.
The team’s Olympic sailor, Adil Khalid, secured the gold medal in the ILCA6 category.
Both the player and the team's coach, Captain Najib Basha, conveyed their happiness regarding this achievement. They expressed sincere gratitude to the Sharjah Sports Council and the club’s board of directors for their steadfast support and ongoing encouragement.
Salim Al Khayyal, a member of Al Hamriyah Club’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the Committee for Individual Sports and Talent Development, congratulated Adil Khalid on his gold medal, highlighting that this achievement is a source of pride for the entire UAE.
