Sharjah 24: The 26th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup will begin tomorrow, Saturday, in Kuwait, with 8 teams participating, including the host Kuwaiti team and defending champions Iraq. The teams will be divided into two groups, featuring the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Yemen, and Oman.
Since its inception in 1970 in Bahrain, the Gulf Cup has evolved into a major regional competition. This marks the fifth time Kuwait has hosted the tournament.

The opening match will take place at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium at 9 pm UAE time between Kuwait and Oman, followed by the UAE vs. Qatar match at 11 pm at Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium.

The tournament's historical top scorer is Kuwaiti Jassim Yaqoub with 18 goals, followed by Saudi Arabia's Majed Abdullah and Iraq’s Hussein Saeed, both with 17 goals.

The opening ceremony will take place under the theme "The Future is the Gulf," symbolising the unity and brotherhood of the Gulf nations.
