Shams introduces an award dedicated to Arabic Content

This award has been developed in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The goal is to encourage creativity and uphold a standard of excellence across all fields, ultimately fulfilling Shams' ambition to continuously motivate media professionals and promote Arabic digital content, while supporting content creators and makers.

Rashid Abdullah Al Obad, Director of Shams, emphasized that the award seeks to recognize outstanding achievement and innovation in Arabic content production. It aims to inspire creators and content makers to present their work in engaging and innovative ways that resonate with contemporary digital trends. The award highlights the importance of meaningful and positive content that not only inspires future generations but also fosters cultural dialogue. By blending creativity with quality, the award aims to cultivate a competitive spirit among content creators across various domains. It will honor the best contributions in four distinct categories, providing opportunities for recognition and visibility for their efforts. Through this initiative, Shams aspires to build a unique platform that contributes to the development of the Arabic content industry and enhances both creativity and social influence within the media landscape, targeting a diverse range of creators engaged in various forms of Arabic content.

The award includes several categories: Best Short Film, Best Commercial Video, Best Arabic Podcast, and Best Social Media Content Creator. The application deadline for submissions is January 10, 2025. The introduction of the Shams Award for Arabic Content underscores the commitment to harnessing all resources to support and foster the values of innovation and growth in the media environment, while elevating the culture of excellence among Arabic content creators. The application and evaluation process will adhere to specific requirements and standards that participants must follow, drawing on best practices established both in the United Arab Emirates and internationally regarding evaluation criteria, eligibility conditions, and assessment stages.

Award Categories:

Best Short Film Award: This award will honor the best short film distinguished by a powerful script that emotionally resonates with viewers, showcasing creativity in directing and cinematography. The quality of sound and visuals, as well as the clarity of the cultural and social messages conveyed, will also be taken into consideration.

Best Commercial Video Award: Awarded to the most effective commercial video, this category emphasizes clarity in marketing messages and the film's ability to engagingly convey the product or service. Evaluations will focus on creativity in capturing attention, production quality, and the extent of audience engagement.

Best Arabic Podcast Award: This award recognizes the best Arabic podcast that exemplifies professionalism in its preparation, content quality, and audio production. Winning podcasts will stand out for their clear sound, engaging presentation, and ability to provide valuable information with cultural or social relevance while ensuring strong audience interaction.

Best Social Media Content Creator Award: This award honors a content creator who excels in presenting fresh and engaging ideas, achieving positive interaction and reach among audiences. Contributions will be evaluated based on the regularity of high-quality content and alignment with cultural and social values.

Rules and Conditions for Submission:

Short Films: Must range from 1 to 10 minutes in length.

Best Commercial: Should be submitted with a video clip lasting 30 to 45 seconds.

Best Podcast: Must include a short audio clip of 1 to 5 minutes.

Best Social Media Content Creator: Submission should be a video lasting 45 seconds to 1 minute.
