This initiative originates from a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Sharjah Media City and the Sharjah Education Academy during the 4th International Forum for Arabic Language Teachers. It demonstrates Shams’ strong commitment to supporting Sharjah’s sustainable development goals and contributing to the creation of a comprehensive knowledge-based society aligned with the emirate’s progressive vision. The sponsorship underscores Shams’ dedication to nurturing educational talent and preparing future leaders in the education sector, thereby improving the quality of education at both local and national levels.
Her Excellency Dr Muhadditha Al Hashimi, President of the Sharjah Education Academy and Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, stated: This initiative reflects the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi to empower educators and improve the quality of education in the emirate. It also reaffirms Shams’ firm commitment to supporting this vision and fostering community partnerships that promote educational development.
She added, launching this initiative on World Teachers’ Day reflects a shared belief between the Academy and Shams in the importance of developing forward-thinking educational leaders who can drive positive change and keep pace with the rapid transformations in the education sector.

This initiative reinforces Shams’ role as a strategic community partner, aligned with our mission to empower individuals, advance knowledge creation, and promote creativity as key pillars for building a well-equipped generation ready to shape a brighter future.”
The Master of Education in Educational Leadership, developed in partnership with the University of Helsinki, Finland, is designed for teachers who aspire to assume mid-level leadership roles or refine their instructional skills. The programme combines innovative research with practical application, allowing participants to adopt new teaching methods and drive educational improvements within classrooms and curricula.
Meanwhile, the Master of Education in Pedagogical Leadership, developed in collaboration with the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto, Canada, incorporates advanced research in educational leadership. It prepares school principals and education system leaders to inspire, manage, and assess large-scale school improvement projects. Candidates can enrol in the two-year (four-semester) programme or complete it within one academic year (two semesters) if they already possess a postgraduate diploma.
All programmes offered by the Sharjah Education Academy are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, ensuring that graduates receive qualifications recognised both nationally and internationally, in line with the highest quality standards.
