Sharjah 24: Thani Al Qamzi and Rashid Al Qamzi will represent the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in the final round of the 2024 World Powerboat Championship – Formula 1 "Sharjah Grand Prix," taking place from December 6 to 8.
The event, organised by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, marks the 23rd edition of the championship.
Nineteen drivers from nine teams will compete for the top three spots, aiming to determine the world champions for both drivers and teams. Thani Al Qamzi, currently ranked 11th in the season standings, has finished as runner-up twice and has secured six third-place finishes. He has also helped lead the Abu Dhabi team to five consecutive team championship titles.
Al Qamzi, preparing for his 158th race, is excited about the competition, especially in Sharjah, where his Formula 1 boating journey began. He aims to end the season strong and is determined to return the Abu Dhabi team to the top in the upcoming season.
