Sharjah24: Under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of Sharjah Ruler's Office in Kalba, crowned the winners of arm wrestling and tug-of-war on Thursday, November 14, 2024, during the fourth Kalba Beach Games.
The awarding ceremony was attended by Sheikh Saqr bin Haitham bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Mohammed bin Darwish, Executive Director of the National Olympic Committee, Abdul Aziz Suleiman, Director of the Secretary-General's Office at the Committee, Abdulmalik Jani, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council and Head of the Organizing Committee, Engineer Adel Saleh Al Hammadi, Board Member, and Dr. Yasser Omar Al-Doukhi, Director of the event.
Results of the Competitions
Arm Wrestling:
A total of 21 players participated across various weight categories. In the 70 kg "right hand" category, Badresh took first place, followed by Mohammed Abu Bakr in second and Anil Kumar in third. In the 80 kg "right hand" category, Ahmad Al Shehhi secured first, followed by Ahmad Said and Khalifa Ahmed. In the "over 90 kg" category, Maxim came in first, followed by Walid Rambo and Amin Mollah. In the 85 kg "left hand" category, Eric finished first, followed by Rambo and Tamer Mohammed. In the youth "right hand" category, Khalifa Ahmed placed first, Ahmad Rashid second, and Hamza third. In the "over 85 kg left hand" category, Maxim took first, Ahmad Rashid second, and Ahmad Kabeer third. In the "over 90 kg left hand" category, Eric came in first, Tamer Mohammed second, and Barsan third. In the masters category, Fayyaz Moatasem took first, Ahmad Saleh second, and Anil Kumar third.
Tug-of-War:
In the adult category, the RPM team secured first place, followed by the Lyon team in second and Khorfakkan team in third. In the youth category, the Yaqout team took first place, followed by the Champions team in second and the Challenge team in third.
Other Competitions:
Men's Basketball Preliminary:
Seven matches were held in the first preliminary round, which included two groups. Al Hamriyah defeated Khorfakkan 22-12, Al Batayeh won against Suqoor Al Jadaan 14-11, and Al Batayeh 2 triumphed over Kalba Coaches 21-7. Al Hamriyah also outperformed Kalba Coaches 18-13, and Al Batayeh 2 beat Khorfakkan 21-0. Al Hamriyah won against Al Batayeh 18-14, and Khorfakkan defeated Kalba Coaches 14-10.
Volleyball:
The second preliminary round of men's volleyball continued with 12 matches among teams from groups three and four, with four teams qualifying to compete for the top positions on the final day. Group three includes Elite 1, "Bours and Valid," Jumeirah, and Iran, while group four consists of Al Amarat 1, "Saddam and Siraj," Khorfakkan 2, and Kalba 2.
Conclusion of the Tournament:
The fourth Kalba Beach Games will conclude on Saturday, November 16, following a successful run since November 8, marked by excellent attendance and engagement in various games and competitions. The organizing committee has completed all arrangements for the closing day, which is expected to be attended by prominent officials and a significant audience.
On the final day, champions in seven sports will be crowned, with football taking center stage as the Kalba and Al Hamidi teams compete for the championship trophy. Additionally, champions in men's volleyball, men's 3x3 basketball, boxing, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, and swimming challenges will also be announced.
