Sharjah24: In a joint initiative, the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR) and the Headquarters of Sharjah Police (SP) held a specialised introductory workshop called "Government Talent Management."
The event brought together directors from human resources and support services departments across various government bodies, authorities, and institutions in Sharjah.
This workshop is in harmony with the initiatives of both entities to bolster the government's strategy, focussing on the development of national competencies, the cultivation of exceptional talent, and their guidance towards supporting the emirate’s vision, ultimately enhancing government performance and fostering sustainable development.
The workshop seeks to enhance understanding among Sharjah’s government regarding the alignment of talent with the objectives of government initiatives. It will cover the concept of government talent management, emphasise the significance of nurturing this talent, and explore the process of identifying and developing these individuals. The document emphasised key focus areas, including leadership, technology, security, arts, sports, and academia, while also presenting exemplary global and local practices in talent identification and development.
The workshop emphasised the importance of creating an integrated government talent database to aid decision-makers in providing future projects and initiatives with essential skills. This approach aims to strengthen the emirate’s ability to fulfil its developmental vision and enhance the quality of government services, while also reinforcing its dedication to fostering a supportive environment for talent growth and development.
Participants reacted with great enthusiasm, engaging in opportunities for idea exchange and presenting proposals to advance the strategic objectives of the Sharjah Government. The discussion also covered the forthcoming plan for the third Annual Talent Forum, which will enable government participants to exchange expertise, showcase Sharjah’s talent development initiatives, and organise significant activities, including the Talent Exhibition.
This exhibition will highlight exceptional skills, providing talents with an opportunity to engage with professionals from diverse sectors and detailing the procedure for government bodies to put forward their gifted individuals.
