Sharjah24: The Arabic Language Centre , part of the Arabic Language Academy (ALA) in Sharjah, held a graduation ceremony for the fifteenth batch of its students, which included 12 male and female students from seven different nationalities residing in the United Arab Emirates, including India, Armenia, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Pakistan, and Russia.
This event crowned an intensive training course that lasted from September 16 to October 23, totaling 30 hours of specialized study in the Arabic language.
The course aimed to empower non-Arabic speakers to acquire essential skills that enhance their understanding of the Arabic language and culture. The program focused on teaching participants the correct pronunciation of all letters, as well as how to write, form, and read words clearly and accurately.
The program included an introduction to speaking skills, where students learned self-introduction techniques and greetings in everyday contexts, which enhanced their ability to communicate more confidently in Arabic.
The Language of Civilization Renewed in Sharjah
In his remarks on the graduation of the fifteenth batch from the Arabic Language Center, Dr. Muhammad Safi Al-Mustghanemi, Secretary-General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, emphasized that the Arabic language, as it has been for centuries, remains the language of civilization and knowledge, renewing and flourishing today in Sharjah through the interest in studying it among a select group of scholars and researchers from various parts of the world. He affirmed that Sharjah has become, thanks to the enlightened vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah , a global beacon radiating the light of Arabic and welcoming students from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and different continents, becoming a bridge that connects civilizations through the language of Al-Dhad (Arabic).
Al-Mustghanemi added that the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah seeks to enhance the presence of the Arabic language in both academic and community settings through conferences and forums that gather language scholars from all over the world, where challenges and prospects facing Arabic in the modern era are discussed. He pointed out that these efforts are not limited to the present but also contribute to establishing the status of the language and ensuring its continuity as a knowledge and cultural resource for future generations, as evidenced by the quality projects and initiatives adopted by the academy, including the "Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language" and ongoing training courses at the Arabic Language Center.
Students from Three Continents
The fifteenth batch of graduates from the Arabic Language Center included 7 females and 5 males from various nationalities. Three female students from India, two from Pakistan, one male student from Russia, along with two from Germany, two from Switzerland, one student from Canada, and another from Armenia participated.
The Arabic Language Center is one of the pioneering initiatives of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, aiming to teach the Arabic language to non-native speakers, targeting foreign communities residing in the United Arab Emirates.
The center contributes to enhancing students' integration with the Arabic Emirati community, positively reflecting on their academic and social lives and enhancing their ability to interact with their surroundings.
