Sharjah24: The Parents Council in the Central Region (PCCR), part of the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department (SDAD), organised its fourth meeting for parents in Al Bataeh. Three prior meetings took place in Dhaid, Mleiha, and Al Madam.
The meeting held at Al Bataeh Cultural and Sports Club featured notable attendees from the Central Region of Sharjah. Among them were Rashid Abdullah Al Mahyan, Chairman of the Parents Council; Hamad Salem Al Ketbi, Chairman of Al Bataeh Club; and Mana Saeed Al Darmaki, Director of Parents Councils Management at the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department. A significant number of parents and students took part in the discussion, which was led by media figure Dr. Saeed Obaid Al Tunaji, a member of the council.
The meeting is designed to enhance communication between families and schools, promoting a collaborative partnership focused on achieving common educational objectives. The meeting centred on essential subjects designed to enhance the educational environment and assist students in achieving their academic and career goals.
Rashid Abdullah Al Mahyan underscored the significance of traditional values in the development of children's personalities. He emphasised the importance of collaboration between the family and the school to cultivate a generation that embodies strong morals and behaviours, reflecting their genuine Emirati identity.
Hamad Salem Al Ketbi highlighted the club's commitment to supporting the local community and its willingness to collaborate with the Parents Council on initiatives that promote education and instill moral values in the youth. He thanked the Parents Council for organising the event and affirmed the club's active role in contributing to the proper upbringing of students.
Mana’a Saeed Al Darmaki emphasised the vital importance of education in the development of society, noting that both schools and parents are essential in fostering the educational atmosphere that promotes students' academic and professional advancement. He urged the need to make the best of the available educational opportunities.
The meeting also addressed several key topics, focussing on the school's contribution to boosting academic success and equipping students for future employment opportunities. Participants highlighted the crucial role that parents have in facilitating home education and working alongside schools to ensure constant supervision of their children's development.
The discussions also focused on how Parents Councils enhance cooperation between schools and local families, emphasising the importance of partnerships to improve education quality.
