The workshop, held on Tuesday, aimed to educate community members about the importance of preventing chronic diseases, especially diabetes, and to encourage them to adopt healthy lifestyles. It also promoted the importance of regular checkups and immunisations as essential elements for protecting families and enhancing quality of life.
The workshop was presented by Dr Lamia Abduljabbar, who discussed the most important healthy habits, the causes of the spread of chronic diseases, and methods of prevention. She emphasised that community awareness is the first step towards building a healthy and sustainable society.
The workshop saw remarkable interaction from attendees who raised questions about ways to improve daily lifestyles and prevent diabetes complications. The programme also included accompanying medical checkups, such as blood pressure and blood sugar level measurements, conducted by a specialised medical team from the Sharjah Public Health Centre.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the council honoured the participants and attendees in appreciation of their contributions to the event's success, affirming its continued efforts in organising awareness initiatives aimed at promoting family and community health.
