Sharjah 24: On Saturday, September 28, the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), led by Issa Hilal Al Hazami, launched the ‘Executive Leadership Path Programme,’ a key component of the "Waed 2" initiative aimed at developing future leaders.
The programme will run until November 23 at the Council’s headquarters, with 13 participants—both male and female—drawn from the Council's staff and members of local sports and specialised clubs. The event was also attended by Nabil Mohammed Ashour, Director of the Support Services Department and Vice President of the Programme.
In his opening remarks, Al Hazami emphasised the significance of the programme, highlighting its goal of nurturing potential young leaders. He expressed the Council's commitment to hosting such programmes year-round to further prepare young talents for leadership roles in sports. He also celebrated the success of the programme's inaugural edition, which identified 60 young athletes (ages 12-14 and 15-17) for leadership training across various sports.
The programme focuses on enhancing personal productivity, teamwork, and effective time management, as well as improving communication skills. Participants will engage in seven weekly sessions, culminating in international certification upon completion.
Additionally, the "Emerging Leaders" track will launch on October 5, targeting 25 participants aged 12 to 14 under the title "Youth Max," facilitated by international expert John Maxwell. This track includes seven sessions that emphasise leadership development through lectures and hands-on experiences in a competitive environment.
Simultaneously, the "Promising Leaders" track for participants aged 15 to 17 will also commence, titled "15 Laws of Personal Growth," also led by John Maxwell. This track will cover seven sessions focusing on foundational leadership principles, with participants receiving an international certificate upon completion.
Al Hazami highlighted the programme's potential benefits for all categories of emerging leaders, fostering distinguished leadership skills both personally and within work teams. He noted that the strong interest in the programme serves as a promising indicator of its success. An integrated team has been formed to oversee the initiative, including Dr. Abdullah Abdulrahman bin Sultan as Chairman and Nabil Mohammed Ashour as Vice Chairman, along with other members from various sectors.
