The workshop was attended by Jassem Al Doukhi, Head of Individual Sports at the Council's Sports Affairs and Development Department, as well as Imad Othman, Specialist in Games. Al Waleed bin Mohammed Al Mashhout, a games specialist in the same department, moderated the workshop.
The workshop covered important topics such as identifying the targeted athletes for each sport, conducting a comparative study of their results and figures in relation to international standards, and determining the approved championships for qualification to the Youth Olympics. We also formulated strategies to organise both domestic and international training camps for the selected athletes.
Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, Director of the Department of Sports and Development Affairs, stated: "This workshop is integral to the Council's initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of talented athletes and equipping them for optimal performance, with the goal of participating in the 2026 Youth Olympics." This presents a chance to highlight exceptional talent from Sharjah, celebrating UAE sports with remarkable podium finishes.
