SWSC basketball team defeats Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy

The conclusion of the first phase of the competition saw the Central Branch team achieve a significant victory against last year's league champions, Sheikha Fatima Academy, delivering an important morale boost. This victory highlights their strength and determination to secure even better results in the upcoming stages of the tournament.

On the other hand, the main Sharjah team, last season's UAE Cup champions, achieved a remarkable victory, winning by a substantial 37-point credit against the opponents from the Eastern Branch. The team's crucial win showcases their capabilities and exceptional performance.

The second round of the competition is scheduled for next Saturday, where the main Sharjah team will face off against the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Academy in what is expected to be a challenging match. Both teams are determined to secure a win, with the Academy aiming to recover from its initial defeat to the Central Branch.

Fatima Al Alili, Head of the Team Games Department at the Sharjah Women's Sports Club, expressed her satisfaction with the performance of the club's three teams participating in the competition. She emphasised that the Central Branch's victory over the defending champions, Sheikha Fatima Academy, was a significant morale boost, which will undoubtedly enhance the players' confidence as they progress in the tournament.

She has further emphasised that the upcoming game between the Academy team and the club's main branch is set to be a championship-level contest. She stated that the players from Sharjah Women's team are completely ready to face the upcoming challenges in the competition.
