Sharjah24: Al Qasimia University has organised its annual initiative titled "Blessing of the Home," in conjunction with the International Day of Older Persons. This initiative aims to strengthen connections with the elderly, celebrate their contributions, and bring joy to their lives while enhancing their social participation.
The "Blessing of the Home" initiative is a significant step towards raising awareness of the importance of older individuals and fostering a supportive environment for them. This effort contributes to building a cohesive community that values all its members, particularly the elderly.

The initiative included an informative and recreational tour for participants from the Senior Services Centre, which is part of the Sharjah Social Services Department. The event was conducted via a sightseeing bus from the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and featured visits to various tourist attractions in the Emirate of Sharjah, including the Al Waha Market in Al Dhaid, a tour of Khor Fakkan, and a visit to the Al Sharq Market for lunch.

Ahlam Bin Jarsh, Assistant Director for students’ affairs stated that the university seeks to honour the elderly through this initiative, providing an opportunity to express gratitude for their noble contributions and their role in nurturing generations and instilling inherited values and ethics. These values represent the identity of the interconnected and compassionate Emirati community, in line with the teachings of our esteemed Islamic faith and the guidance of our wise leadership.

Bin Jarsh further noted that this event facilitated opportunities for social interaction and entertainment in a unique cultural and tourist setting. It aimed to enhance the sense of celebration for the elderly and empower them to participate actively in community activities, enabling closer engagement through events organised by the Deanship of Student Affairs, aligned with its social objectives that resonate with the university's students.
