Al Qasimia University signs MoU with UAE Teachers Association

Sharjah 24: Al Qasimia University has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the UAE Teachers Association, as part of its ongoing commitment to fostering community partnerships and enhancing scientific and knowledge-based collaboration with various national and community institutions. This agreement is aimed at contributing to sustainable development and empowering national professionals.

Strengthening collaboration in education and research

The MoU was signed at Al Qasimia University’s headquarters, with His Excellency Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of the university, representing the institution. The UAE Teachers Association was represented by His Excellency Salah Khamis Al Hosani, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors.

The purpose of this memorandum is to build national capacities, facilitate the exchange of expertise in training, education, and scientific research, and strengthen joint efforts in the development and implementation of professional diplomas and specialised training programmes. Additionally, areas of cooperation include organising specialised lectures and workshops to enhance the skills of teachers, employees, and students, as well as developing national human resources across various educational and community sectors.

Commitment to enhancing education and training

The MoU highlights the commitment of both parties to coordinate in the development and execution of high-quality training programmes aimed at improving the educational and training landscape in the country.

His Excellency Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of Al Qasimia University, expressed that the MoU embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Founder of the university. The vision focuses on strengthening partnerships between educational institutions and community organisations, as well as supporting the development of national professionals with knowledge, skills, and expertise.

University’s strategy for community growth

He further explained that, in alignment with the university’s strategy, Al Qasimia University welcomes any collaboration that contributes to the development of individuals and enhances their role in the pursuit of sustainable development. He noted that this agreement marks a significant step in advancing specialised training programmes that meet the demands of the educational sector and open up avenues for experience exchange, benefiting the UAE community.

For his part, His Excellency Salah Khamis Al Hosani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Teachers Association, expressed the significance of signing the memorandum of understanding with Al Qasimia University. He emphasised that this collaboration aligns with the association's objectives of supporting and developing the capabilities of teachers and those working in the educational field.

He also confirmed that the MoU will contribute to providing a specialised training environment that meets current educational demands and aligns with modern educational aspirations. He praised the pioneering role of Al Qasimia University in serving the community and graduating qualified professionals capable of making significant contributions in various fields.
