Sharjah24: Al Qasimia University has achieved a major milestone by obtaining approval from the Academic Accreditation Commission at the Ministry of Education to develop the Bachelor of Arts in Media programme within the College of Communication, alongside the Bachelor of Arts in Economics programme in the College of Economics and Administration. This initiative aligns with the university's vision of implementing best practices and standards upheld by international universities while meeting labor market demands.
The Bachelor of Arts in Media programme will now feature two specialized tracks: one focusing on audiovisual production and the other on journalism and digital publishing. Starting from the third year, students can choose one of these tracks to enhance their specialisation in communication.

Additionally, the university has secured approval for the development of the Bachelor of Arts in Economics programme, ensuring it adheres to distinguished international standards and labour market requirements. The number of credit hours for this programme has also been reduced from 129 to 120.

This step reaffirms Al Qasimia University’s commitment to offering advanced educational programmes that keep pace with global developments in media and economics. The university benefits greatly from the substantial support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who is also the founder of Al Qasimia University. The university is equipped with modern facilities, including classrooms, radio and television studios, and media labs, providing a comprehensive learning environment for students from around the world.

Professor Awad Al Khalaf, the Director of Al Qasimia University, emphasised that this approval represents an important step toward enhancing the quality of education at the university and embodies His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi's vision to provide innovative educational programmes for students from diverse backgrounds. The university currently welcomes students from 127 nationalities, reflecting its ongoing efforts to attract a global student body.

Professor Awad Al Khaleef further noted that Al Qasimia University is dedicated to continuously developing its academic programmes in line with labour market needs, focusing on delivering educational content that meets the highest international standards and reflects contemporary trends in knowledge and innovation. Through these initiatives, the university aims to achieve academic excellence, contributing to the development of a generation of graduates capable of competing in global markets.
