Sharjah24: To equip members with diverse skills and create spaces where learning meets enjoyment, the Rubu’ Qarn Centre for Life Skills has launched a creative camp. Affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, the camp focuses on developing personal and professional skills for Sharjah Children, Sharjah Youth, and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, aged 6 to 18. The camp runs from July 14 to August 15, 2024.

Through this camp, in its first edition, the Rubu’ Qarn Centre for Life Skills aims to equip participants with skills that align with their interests and talents. The camp channels participants' energies during their free time, ensuring a fun and needs-appropriate investment in the summer vacation. This effort aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation, in nurturing generations that excel in various fields."

The Rubu’ Qarn Life Skills Camp offers a unique summer experience, through which participants acquire a wide range of personal and professional skills. It provides an opportunity to raise awareness about crafts and creates a generation capable of managing their individual needs and caring for their families and homes with full knowledge. It also serves as a gateway for participants to accumulate knowledge about personal skills. In the first phase of the camp, 225 children aged 6 to 12 participated in a series of engaging workshops and skill programmes that brought them both enjoyment and benefit. Some of the most prominent activities included: culinary arts skills, the "Design and Build" programme, sewing and embroidery skills programmes, and handicraft programmes.

The second phase of the camp focuses on developing the personal and professional skills of adolescents and young ladies aged 13 to 18 years through a rich and diverse range of interactive programmes. The professional skills programmes include training participants in solar panel making, fountain construction, professional photography, table making, carpet shaping, terrarium creation, and the art of preparing healthy dishes. The specialised personal skills programmes vary between the "Promising Media Professional" job shadowing programme, podcast content production, self-management, and emotional intelligence.
