The project aims to empower students to form theatrical groups to compete against each other by presenting a comprehensive theatrical performance delivering a meaningful message and addressing engaging topics relevant to society. During the preparation period for the competition, Sharjah for Capability Development will supervise the participating teams and provide necessary support to enable them to create well-rounded theatrical productions.
An orientation day will be organised for those interested in joining the "Theatre in My University" project through visits to universities, colleges, and institutes in the Emirate of Sharjah, allowing them to learn more about the project, and how to represent their institutions in the best possible manner. Interested participants can also visit the institute's website to learn more about the rules and conditions of participation.
About Rubu’ Qarn:
Nearly 40 years ago, in 1985, the cultural project initiated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, began with the aim of investing in human capital. This initiative included the establishment of centres in all areas of the emirate aimed at engaging children and youth, providing a safe environment for their hobbies, nurturing their talents, and refining their abilities.
To enhance this journey, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the wife of the Rule of Sharjah, established Rubu’ Qarn Foundation. It is the first regional foundation that works hand in hand with the community to build conscious and influential generations through programmes and activities in various fields, enriching the knowledge, experiences, and skills of individuals over a 25-year journey, hence the name "Rubu’ Qarn (Quarter Century) Foundation."
Rubu' Qarn serves as an umbrella organisation for four Sharjah-based entities: Sharjah Children, Sharjah Youth, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, and Sharjah for Capability Development.
