Sharjah 24: Hanan Al Mahmoud, Vice President of the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, visited Mleiha Sports Club this morning with her accompanying delegation. The purpose of the visit was to explore areas of cooperation and enhance the utilization of outstanding athletes and the available sports facilities at the club.
This visit is part of ongoing efforts to promote and develop women's sports in the Emirate of Sharjah on various levels. His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, warmly welcomed Hanan Al Mahmoud and expressed his delight at this important visit.
The visit included a tour of the club's facilities, where Hanan Al Mahmoud reviewed the sports infrastructure and available services. It was also agreed to translate the directives and visions of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, into future plans to enhance cooperation and develop joint sports programmes aimed at empowering women in sports and improving their performance levels.
This visit highlights Sharjah's significant interest in women's sports and the continuous efforts to enhance the status of Emirati women in various sports fields, contributing to the emirate's vision of a comprehensive and distinguished sporting community.
During the meeting, ways to coordinate and cooperate in promoting the efforts of Emirati women in various sports were discussed, along with reviewing the available resources at the club and how to utilize them to support women's sports.
In her statement, Hanan Al Mahmoud emphasised the importance of this visit, saying, "The visit to Mleiha Sports Club is an important step to enhance cooperation between the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation and sports clubs in the emirate. Through these partnerships, we strive to provide a conducive environment for developing the talents of female athletes and supporting them to achieve the best results."
Al Mahmoud added, "We can only commend the great support and wise directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the first supporter of women's sports in the emirate, through her pioneering initiatives and her great interest in empowering Emirati women in all sports fields."
She noted that Mleiha Club possesses excellent facilities and promising athletes, and we look forward to achieving more successes through this fruitful cooperation.
Al Khasouni praised the efforts made by the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation in supporting women's sports and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two parties, saying, "At Mleiha Club, we welcome all initiatives aimed at supporting and developing women's sports.
