Sharjah24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority completed multiple internal road lighting projects in the central region during the second quarter of 2024. The projects included the installation of 255 new lighting poles and 359 spotlights, as well as the extension of cables over a distance of 20,000 meters. Specifically, the Mahrani and Muhafiz neighborhoods, Muhafiz-Nizwa road, the road connecting Khorfakkan Road and the road leading to Markaz Al Dhaid, and Al Bustan Council all received new lighting installations. Additionally, a road lighting project linking Sharjah Khorfakkan Road and Al Dhaid Camel Racecourse Road was completed with the installation of 92 poles, 95 250 W.S spotlights, and the extension of cables over a distance of 5,000 meters. These developments are part of the ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and serve the residents of these areas.
During the second quarter, Eng. Khalifa Mohammed Al Tunaiji, Director of the Central Region Department, outlined that the Authority's lighting projects in the Central Region have significantly enhanced service delivery.

He mentioned that the Authority is currently carrying out development and expansion projects related to networks and distribution stations in the central region's cities. This is being done to keep up with the significant development in the area and to achieve its development plan. The Authority is working in collaboration with all government agencies to ensure that projects are completed with high quality, efficiency, and within the shortest possible time.

He emphasized that the street and road lighting projects in the central region are ongoing according to a planned schedule and high standards. This continuous work ensures that the area is well-lit, meeting the latest technological standards and enhancing the infrastructure to cater to the population's needs and develop the facilities. This ongoing nature of the projects keeps stakeholders informed and involved in the process.

He emphasized that the lighting projects were executed to the highest standards, with connections to the network established. Poles of varying lengths, ranging from 6 to 14 meters, were installed based on specific locations and areas. Additionally, high-quality spotlights and lamps were also installed.
