This was achieved after completing inspection procedures and meeting all security and safety requirements, and in accordance with the best technical specifications and standards. This is a continuation of the development process in all areas. 9,333 electricity metres were installed for new projects, 234 new electrical transformers were installed to supply the projects, and the medium and low voltage networks were extended over 328 km in length.
Engineer Ahmed Al Bas, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department, explained that the Authority attaches great importance to developing networks, providing services, and continuing comprehensive development efforts in all regions. This is in implementation of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide high-quality infrastructure to meet development needs and achieve sustainable development.
Al Bas pointed out that the Authority is continuously working to develop its services, which include connecting buildings and facilities in all areas of the Emirate of Sharjah according to the best specifications after the completion of the facility and receiving requests for permanent electricity connection. The Authority is constantly working to facilitate procedures and digital transformation to improve services provided to subscribers.
Al Bas added that during the first nine months of this year, 9,523 mechanical metres were replaced with smart metres, 1,899 electrical distribution panels were certified according to approved technical specifications, 4,519 technical inspections were carried out for projects, and 1,332 initial electricity inspection certificates were issued. These efforts aim to facilitate the process of obtaining completion certificates from the Sharjah City Municipality and ensure that all technical requirements for projects are met. This contributes to accelerating connection processes and providing safe and reliable electricity services to subscribers.
