SEWA completes 17 lighting projects in Central Region

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) continues its efforts to illuminate streets and roads across the Emirate, having completed 17 lighting projects in various areas and neighbourhoods of the Central Region at a cost exceeding AED 19.387 million from the start of 2025 to the end of September 2025.

Project scope and installations

Engineer Khalifa Mohammed Al Tuniji, Director of the Central Region at SEWA, stated that 1,609 poles have been installed, along with more than 2,621 luminaires, and 69,683 metres of cable laid.

Details by area

In Al Dhaid, 10 projects included replacing luminaires in Jabal Omar and internal roads, the camel track, Al Hosn-2, Al Suwaih-2, Al Khurus Phase 2, Taybah neighbourhood, Sohaila internal roads, Tal Al Zaafran Phase 2, and the service road near Al Suwaih. In Al Batayeh, four projects were completed covering Al Batayeh Industrial Area, the road to Souq Al Jumaa, parking luminaires, Tawi Al Saman neighbourhood internal roads and entrance luminaires.

In Mleiha, internal roads for cattle farms were illuminated, while in Al Madam, two projects included upgrading the Al Madam border crossing lighting and replacing solar poles in Al Thaqeeba neighbourhood.
