Sharjah24: Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club hosted a workshop in Arabic calligraphy as a part of the Sharjah Summer Sports Program and Sustainability Week.
Given by lecturer Anwar Othman, The workshop lasted for two days and concluded yesterday evening. It included teaching the participants the arts of Arabic calligraphy, including Ruq’ah and Naskh script, where they learned how to draw letters and recognize their positions.

Throughout the workshop, participants not only learned but also applied their newfound skills. They were able to write their names and phrases specific to Sustainability Week, a practical application that contributed to improving their handwriting and developing their creativity. It's part of the plan for summer activities to help kids learn new skills and discover their talents. It's also important for kids to learn Arabic calligraphy from a young age because it's part of their culture and heritage, and it helps pass on traditions to future generations.

The workshop at Al Dhaid Club recently ended. During the workshop, Anwar Othman taught Arabic calligraphy and helped the participants learn and improve their skills. Rashid Abdullah bin Howaiden, the club's secretary, and Mehayir Obaid Al Khayal Al Tunaiji, the club's managing director and chairman of the organizing committee for the summer activity, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Anwar Othman for his hard work and dedication, as well as to all the organizers who made this workshop possible. Their efforts were instrumental in the success of the event and are deeply appreciated.

Al Ketbi, Secretary of Al Dhaid Club, stressed the importance of this workshop in refining young people’s skills and enhancing their interaction with Arab and cultural heritage. He emphasized that this contributes to building a sustainable generation that not only learns new skills but also preserves the rich cultural identity of the region, instilling a sense of pride and connection to our heritage among the participants.
