Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Academy of Police Science celebrated, on Thursday, at the University City Hall in Sharjah, the graduation of the courses of male police friends 37 and female police friends 6, which lasted for a full month and was hosted by the Zayed Educational Complex in Al Rahmaniyah area.
This came under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Statistics and Community.
The course aimed to optimise the use of leisure time and empower students, provide them with various skills and experiences, and develop their skills.
The graduation ceremony was attended by His Excellency Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, His Excellency Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the academy, His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department, the directors-general of Sharjah Police, the entities cooperating in implementing the programme, the graduates’ parents, and a large number of invitees.
The graduation ceremony began with the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, after which student Nahyan Ali Al Hammadi recited verses from the Holy Quran. The ceremony included a part in which the students spoke about the programme, thanking the academy and the parties involved in the success of this distinguished programme, which contributed to enriching the experiences and skills of members.
It included a variety of programmes and activities, which came in line with the directives of our wise government in supporting programmes concerned with developing young people’s skills and providing them with knowledge in modern sciences. The programme included lectures, workshops, field military training, awareness programmes, and various activities.
After that, a documentary film was shown, prepared by the academy’s Government Communication Department, which included a summary of the course’s activities such as workshops, lectures, practical training, and field visits. The students then presented military demonstrations and self-defence skills, which the graduates acquired during the summer programme.
At the end of the ceremony, the Director General of the academy presented a memorial shield to the representative of the sponsor of the ceremony, after which His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, accompanied by Major General Bin Amer and Brigadier General Al Othmani, honoured the partners and collaborators in making the summer programme a success. The activities concluded by taking memorial photos with the police’s friends who were members of the course.
