SSDSC competes in West Asian Judo Championship in Jordan

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club (SSDSC) is participating in the West Asian Judo Championship, hosted by the Jordanian capital, Amman, from July 15 to 22. The club’s delegation comprises 11 players and the administrative and technical staff, led by Abdul Aziz Al-Hammadi, Director of the Sports Training Department.
The club competes in kata events for under 18s, as well as juniors under 13 and 15 categories, aiming to secure international medals and engage with players from around the world.

Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, announced plans to discuss with the West Asian Federation the potential hosting of the next West Asian Judo Championship in Sharjah. He expressed gratitude for the support from the Sharjah Sports Council and the UAE Judo Federation.

Obaid Al-Assam Al-Suwaidi, a member of the club’s board of directors, highlighted that the club has brought forward a talented group of new players whose skills have been developed, aiming to qualify them for future Olympic tournaments.
