Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Club's Cubs ‘A’ team won the UAE Cup Championship for the Cubs Handball category for the 2023-2024 season, for the ninth time in its history, after defeating Al Nasr team in the final match with a score of (30-20), on Sunday evening, at the Al Dhaid Club hall.
Faisal Hussein Al Tawash, Member of the Board of Directors of the UAE Handball Federation and Chairman of the National Teams Committee, crowned the Sharjah Cubs ‘A’ team with the championship cup and gold medals, and Al Nasr Cubs, runner-up, with silver medals, in the presence of His Excellency Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club, His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, Member of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Sports Club, Head of the Group Sports Department, and Yousef Ahmed, Supervisor of the Age Stages of Handball at the Sharjah Club.
With this title, Sharjah succeeded in achieving 13 championships out of 14 local competitions, in addition to the external title “Emirati-Bahraini Men’s Super-Cup” during the 2023-2024 sports season.
Sharjah Club Handball also confirmed its dominance of the General Excellence Shield for the 20th time out of 23 titles since the inception of this award.
