Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Club Basketball Cubs team won the Cubs Cup title for the 2023-2024 sports season, for the third time in the club’s history, after defeating the Al Nasr Club Cubs with a score of (66-45), in the match that brought the two teams together in the final of the competition, on Friday, at the Sharjah Sports Club hall in the Emirate.
With this distinguished achievement, the team succeed in combining the league and cup titles for the third time in the club’s history, repeating what it did in the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons, following their victory in the seventh league shield in the club’s history, against Al Nasr’s Cubs last week.
Following the Basketball Cubs Cup final, His Excellency Ali Al Amiri, Member of the Board of Directors of the UAE Basketball Federation, Director of Competitions, crowned the champions of Sharjah with the Championship Cup and gold medals, and the Cubs of Al Nasr, runners-up in the cup, with silver medals, in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, Member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club, Head of Group Games, and Talal Shaker, Supervisor of the Age Stages of Basketball at Sharjah Club
It is noteworthy that this title is the third for the youth basketball sector in the 2023-2024 season, after the youth team won the cup championship, and the Sharjah’s Cubs won the league and cup double last week. The junior team will also compete in the final of the cup competition, on Saturday, June 1.
