Sharjah24: The Heart Centre at Al Qassimi Hospital (AQH), part of the Emirates Health Services Foundation, has recently organised a workshop in collaboration with the Erasmus University Medical Center for Heart in Netherlands.
This workshop aimed to further enhance the field of cardiac catheterisation, focusing on heart surgeries and catheterisation procedures. This event is a component of the visiting doctors' office programme, which has been overseen by the foundation since 2015.

The program's objective is to facilitate the exchange and acquisition of therapeutic expertise in specific medical specialties.

A doctor from a medical centre in the Netherlands, along with a group of doctors from the Arabian Gulf region and the United Arab Emirates, took part in the workshop. The theoretical lectures covered practical applications on various complex cases in the catheterisation department, leading to productive and insightful discussions. The participants found the session to be highly valuable.

Dr. Arif Al Nooryani, CEO and Head of Cardiac Cath Lab at Al Qassimi Hospital Sharjah highlighted the significance of this workshop as a means to foster cultural and scientific exchange, and strengthen international collaboration in the realm of medicine and healthcare.

The goal is to enhance the quality of services offered for a range of heart conditions and raise the standard of healthcare for both local and international communities. It was highlighted that the workshop had enthusiastic involvement from both medical teams, who shared their knowledge and expertise in the field of heart surgeries and catheterisations.

Dr. Al Nooryani emphasised the importance of the workshop, which aimed to improve the quality of healthcare for heart patients by sharing and developing the latest methods and techniques in heart surgery and catheterisation.

The workshop also provided a platform for doctors to share their experiences and seek consultations, promoting understanding and collaboration between the two medical institutions.

In addition to the theoretical lectures, the workshop covered over 10 complicated cases in the catheterization department. The emphasis was on achieving precise imaging using laser and ultrasound for examining the coronary arteries. This allowed for the development of specific treatment plans, ensuring the patient's safe and effective long-term recovery.

This workshop is part of the ongoing efforts led by the Emirates Health Services Foundation to support the Heart Centre at Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah. The foundation is dedicated to equipping the centre with the latest devices and technology to enhance the delivery of healthcare to patients.
