The three syrgeries are a qualitative leap in catheterisation using the Paradise system, which EHAS is the first to provide and supply to Al Qassimi Hospital as a modern technological technique for treating high blood pressure, at the level of the Middle East region. Catheterisation is performed using Paradise system cauterising and isolating the sympathetic nerves that cover the renal arteries, which play a major role in high blood pressure by also emitting sound waves that penetrate the artery wall for a distance of 1-6 mm, and with different balloon sizes ranging from 3.5 mm to 8 mm, as each artery needs between 2 to 4 bursts of waves, each wave lasting 7 seconds.
Dr. Issam Al Zarouni, Acting Executive Director of the Medical Services Sector at the EHS, confirmed that EHS role is not limited to providing high-quality health care, but goes beyond that to innovation and providing the latest medical technologies and equipment that contribute to improving treatment processes and providing distinguished medical services to the community, through its advanced medical procedures, , which reflects EHS firm commitment to providing comprehensive and specialised healthcare to patients, and contributes to strengthening its position as one of the most prominent health authorities at the local and global levels.
Dr. Arif Al Nouryani, Director of Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, explained that performing catheterisation surgeries using the Paradise system is important in providing appropriate and effective treatment for heart patients who suffer from problems such as unstable high blood pressure, whereas such surgeries contribute to improving the quality of life of patients and reducing serious health complications.
He added that EHS is keen to adopt the latest technologies, and provide this technology for the first time in the Middle East region.
It is noteworthy that surgeries using the Paradise system take about an hour, the patient leaves the hospital 24 hours later, and the cost of the surgery ranges between 40 to 60 thousand dirhams. It is also worth noting that the cardiology department at Al Qasimi Hospital adopted the treatment of high blood pressure by cauterisation using thermal catheters and modern technology, for the first time in 2011.
