Organised in cooperation with the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Establishment (EKTIFA) under the theme "Developing Services and Enhancing Competitiveness," the session focused on addressing sector challenges, reviewing solutions to improve food supply chains, and strengthening integration among stakeholders.
Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi highlighted the Mleiha Wheat Farm as the venue for this key dialogue session. The collaboration with EKTIFA aimed to dive deep into the food industry's current hurdles while establishing a collaborative framework to optimise and support the development of regional food supply chains
In an exclusive statement to Sharjah 24, Sheikh Fahim explained that building a more efficient food system requires seamless coordination across every stage of the supply chain—from initial production and manufacturing to retail outlets and local markets. He emphasised that the council will deliver practical recommendations and targeted solutions to support investors in production, manufacturing, and sales, ultimately driving economic growth for Sharjah's food sector.
The session was attended by His Excellency Hassan Jassim Al Nowais, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, and His Excellency Dr Khalifa Musbeh Al Tunaiji, CEO of EKTIFA, alongside various officials and industry representatives. Together, the participants analysed the most critical challenges facing food supply chains and evaluated collaborative solutions to enhance stakeholder integration, safeguard food security, and advance the sector.
