Sharjah 24: His Excellency Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, witnessed the closing ceremony of the Ramadan Punishment and Correctional Institution activities, which was held at its headquarters.
This came in the presence of Brigadier Ahmed Haji Al Sarkal, Director General of Police Operations, Brigadier Abdullah Ibrahim bin Nassar, Director General of Resources and Support Services, His Eminence Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan Al Otaibi, Colonel Mona Sorour Al Shuwaihi, Acting Director of the Punishment and Correctional Institution, and representatives of local and federal government entities, supporters, and a number of officers of the institution.
His Excellency the Deputy Commander-in-Chief praised the great efforts made by the institution in providing sustainable services and initiatives that guarantee the rights of male and female inmates in all aspects.
He pointed out that the reform and guidance system in the institution is considered a pioneering and honourable model. Its systematic and scientific programmes and activities reflect positively on the inmates to return to being good individuals, useful to their families, society and country.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, after which Colonel Mona Sorour Al Shuwaihi, Acting Director of the Punishment and Correctional Institution, delivered a speech in which she said that she felt gratitude and appreciation for everyone who contributed and participated in the success of the institution’s Ramadan activities, praising the programmes and activities organised during this holy month, which enhances the spirit of solidarity among the inmates.
After that, His Excellency Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, honoured the partners and supporting bodies whose efforts had a significant impact in achieving the desired initiatives and goals. Three inmates who had memorised the Holy Quran were honoured, and the foundational Arabic language course graduated 11 inmates.
During the ceremony, the sponsor and attendees toured the exhibition accompanying the events, during which they were briefed on the activities held and the inmates’ products.
