Sharjah24: The Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) has proudly unveiled the recently completed Al Ramla Park, an urban oasis that reflects the principles of sustainability and aesthetics in public space design. With a keen eye on the needs and preferences of the local populace, the park encompasses verdant green spaces, inviting walking paths, and ample areas for recreation and entertainment, providing visitors with shaded seating and a comfortable environment.
According to Engineer Alia Al Rand, Director of the Department's Projects Department, the project is an embodiment of SDPW's commitment to improving public infrastructure and providing a welcoming environment for residents and tourists alike. The park is part of a larger initiative that the department has undertaken to enhance the quality of life in the city and foster social interaction among community members.

The highlights of the park include a basketball court, a football court, and a 491-meter-long and 3-meter-wide rubber walkway. The park also features two fitness equipment areas, a central square with a water fountain, and a stepped stage area for hosting events. The park has a café and a children's play area with rubber floors, decorative fences with gates, and accompanying service rooms.

The rubber walkway is designed to offer a comfortable exercise environment. It features a 4 cm thick layer of treated rubber and a non-slip protection layer that adheres to international standards. Al Rand confirmed that the majority of the walkway materials are environmentally friendly, produced through freezing systems, and recycled old tires into crumbled rubber. The department has taken a deliberate policy to ensure that the quality of materials used in the construction of the track is compatible with the region's environment and safety standards.

The Director of Building Projects Department added that the track is environmentally friendly, providing safety and comfort from the hazards of falling and high resistance to weather factors and hot weather. Overall, the Al Ramla Park project is an excellent example of the SDPW's commitment to providing a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing urban environment.
