Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the first edition of the Khorfakkan International Athletics Forum kicked off on Thursday with the participation of a large number of players and teams from 30 countries.
Dr. Abdulrazzaq Bani Rashid, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, stated that the forum, organized by the club for two days, including the participation of around 209 male and female athletes competing in track and field events, explaining that all the sports included in the forum are approved by international athletics federations.
Bani Rashid added in statements to Sharjah 24 that 12 world champions in various athletics events are participating in the forum, which added a remarkable achievement to the sports movement in Khorfakkan and the entire Emirate of Sharjah.
Finally, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khorfakkan Club emphasized that the presence of a number of world champions is an opportunity for local players to interact and gain international professional experience.
