Sharjah24: At a cost of AED 97,721,994 in 2023, Sharjah Charity International (SCI) built 1246 mosques both within and outside the UAE with the help of its donors.
The charity's global regional offices and UAE embassies are working together on the "Mosque Construction" initiative, which entails constructing mosques in different countries.
Rebuilding houses of worship in disadvantaged regions is a charity responsibility of the UAE, especially Sharjah Charity International. This effort helps Muslim communities with their worship and traditions.
The project allows philanthropic individuals to become involved in the construction of mosques, highlighting the everlasting benefits that come with such endeavours.
Director of Sharjah Charity International's Projects and External Aid Department Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Ali praised the initiative, calling it "one of the greatest charitable endeavours" that allows donors to have a hand in building places where Allah's name is remembered.
By building mosques in areas where none exist, Al Ali highlighted the project's aim of assisting Muslim people in these areas to worship, demonstrating the altruistic role of the UAE and Sharjah Charity International in particular.
Al Ali thanked the donors and embassies for their ongoing efforts and significant participation in supporting the charity's humanitarian programmes, and he said that the project is a platform for philanthropists. He urged them to continue their generous contributions to build the targeted number of mosques.
