Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Charity International (SCI) reported that its medical programmes contributed to providing treatment for more than 1105 patients. The SCI receives requests for patient treatment through the website.
Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director, said that SCI provided therapeutic assistance, during 2023, at a financial cost amounting to 22.1 million dirhams, which contributed to the treatment of 1105 patients, including 136 patients suffering from chronic diseases, at a cost of 1.6 million dirhams; in addition to 71 cancer patients, at a cost of 3 million dirhams; dialysis sessions were also provided for patients with kidney failure, at a cost of 6.6 million dirhams.
He continued by saying that treatment also included covering the expenses of 249 patients who underwent surgeries, at a cost of 6 million dirhams, including catheterisation, heart diseases, stroke, and transplants of vital organs such as liver, marrow, and kidney, in addition to 72 birth cases.
He pointed out that helping and treating patients represents one of the most important strategic initiatives of the SCI, and aims to promote the principle of social solidarity, which is the principle that the SCI began working with, in cooperation with many parties, to help patients with chronic diseases, who need operations and cannot afford it.
