Sharjah24: Al Qasimia University and the Friends of Diabetes Association (FDA) are getting ready to launch the second edition of the "Diabetes Ambassadors" program, as forty male and female students from various countries will take part in the event, building on the excellence shown in the program's first edition .
The program's goal is to draw outstanding students from various countries who are interested in volunteer work to focus on their rehabilitation and health education on diabetes. Once they return home, they will be able to raise awareness of this contemporary illness in their own countries.
Her Excellence the Friends of Diabetes Association's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Khawla Al Haj, stated that the program, which is supported by Al Qasimia University, is very beneficial and important in raising awareness about diabetes and how to prevent and manage it. The program also helps the association spread its message and make its mark because it is part of the Diabetes Ambassadors Program. She extends her gratitude to the university for funding humanitarian and charitable initiatives that raise awareness in other nations and encourage young people in participating in their communities.
The second session will take place at Al Qasimia University's headquarters in Sharjah from January 19 to January 21. Trained medical professionals will provide the participants with information about the disease and how to treat infected individuals, as well as how healthy individuals can prevent contracting the illness. The students will receive hands-on instruction in the use of blood sugar monitoring equipment and how to administer first aid to a diabetic patient who has been hurt.
