Sharjah 24: The Aman Ya Beladi programme, prepared by the Media and Public Relations Department of Sharjah Police every Monday morning, discussed a number of diverse topics through its various stations. The episode was titled “Safety and Prevention in Residential Facilities,” and was presented by Major Ahmed Al Hammadi and Captain Mani’e Al Naqbi.
Major Imad Ali Al Morshedi, Head of the Prevention and Safety Department at the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, spoke about the prominent role of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority and its awareness efforts in spreading the culture of civil safety and its standards among various segments of society, reviewing the concept of the fire alarm system and the extent of its importance in commercial and residential buildings, and the types of fire alarm detectors and the difference between them, and the standards and requirements that must be followed for balconies and windows in residential buildings for the safety of their residents.

For his part, Ishaq Mahmoud Al Amiri,  an electrical engineer in the fire unit of the Forensic Laboratory Department at the Sharjah Police General Command,  spoke about the complementary roles between Sharjah Police and the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority in dealing with various incidents in the emirate, explaining the causes of common fires in residential facilities and ways to avoid them, in addition to the positive effects of implementing the “Hassantuk”,  safety system for emergency response to protect lives and residential facilities.

The panelists called on all individuals and institutions to adhere to the requirements of prevention and safety and the precautions that must be taken to preserve the safety of individuals and protect their property.
