Sharjah Civil Aviation and Police promote summer road safety

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Civil Aviation Department, in cooperation with Sharjah Police, organised an awareness event as part of the federal “A Summer Without Accidents” campaign, launched by the Ministry of Interior for 2025 to promote traffic safety and reduce accident rates. The campaign runs until 1 September.

The event, held for staff at the Sharjah Training Centre for Airport Sciences (STCAS), included a lecture highlighting the campaign’s goals: raising awareness among drivers and road users, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, and emphasising vehicle safety through tyre checks, regular maintenance, and avoiding overloading—all critical to preventing summer road accidents, which often increase due to high temperatures.

As part of the initiative, staff also received free tyre inspections to ensure their vehicles’ safety.

The Sharjah Civil Aviation Department continues to collaborate with partners such as Sharjah Police in line with its social responsibility, working to raise staff awareness of safe driving practices, particularly during the summer when extra precautions are needed to protect public safety.
