This event is particularly special because it marks the Academy's first participation in an international festival since its establishment. It represents a significant step forward, showcasing the Academy's role in global cultural and artistic initiatives and helping to promote the UAE as a center for cultural exchange through music—a universal language that connects people around the world.
The Academy aims to strengthen its musical groups' presence and enhance the UAE’s image on the global stage, especially highlighting the Emirate of Sharjah. This initiative aligns with Sharjah's vision, established by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote peace, cooperation, and understanding through music.
The festival is a gathering of diverse cultures, featuring 28 military bands, including 18 from Russia and several others from countries like Italy, Belarus, Ethiopia, and Zimbabwe. It serves as an artistic platform that promotes values such as tolerance and human connection.
Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, the Director of the Academy, remarked that this participation is a historic milestone for the Academy, allowing them to showcase the cultural and artistic contributions of the UAE and Sharjah to the world. He expressed pride in representing Sharjah at such a prominent festival.
Lieutenant Colonel Hussein Ali Al Raisi added that the Academy's involvement in this international event enhances the band's artistic and military journey and demonstrates the UAE's commitment to building cultural bridges with people globally. The delegation has prepared a diverse program that blends the UAE's national identity with the musical traditions of the military police, aiming to portray a positive image of the Academy and its mission.
