Sharjah 24: “Sharjah Children,” affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, announced its programme agenda for the year 2024, including a number of interactive workshops, training courses, and programmes that aim to develop the skills of its members in different fields, for children from 6-12 years, in Sharjah Children centres.
Programmes are held in the fields of sports, arts, science, technology, literature, languages, and life skills, in addition to theatre and performing arts, music programmes, as well as seasonal programmes and mutual projects with Rubu’ Qarn institutions.

In the literature and languages field, there many specialised workshops will be organized that aim to advance children’s culture, develop their skills in story criticism, empower them with reading and writing skills, and develop their creative sense, such as the “Story Mandoos” (Story Box), story player, reading stations, and “let’s create a story”, in addition to a cultural camp to provide participants with different cultural skills. 

In the sports field, a series of programmes will focus on providing children with motor skills for a number of sports, such as the professional swimming pool for females, which aims to develop, nurture and refine the participants’ skills and talent in this field, and prepare them, within teams, for local and international sports competitions, and to form a large base of talented female swimmers.  The sports incubator programme will combine judo, taekwondo, bow and arrow, and fencing; in addition to programmes that contribute to increasing the physical fitness of members, such as football, gymnastics, athletics, and swimming, in addition to training them in rescue and first aid skills in the water safety programme.

As for the arts field, the Sharjah Children’s Agenda 2024 offers many interesting workshops, including “the artist’s fingerprint” workshop, drawing with artificial intelligence, the art of fossils, shadows, ceramics, mandalas, and the metaverse, as well as workshops in photography, editing, and photography. It also includes workshops in theatre and music, in addition to providing a number of programmes in life skills, including personal skills and professional skills.

During 2024, seasonal programmes agenda includes many institutional programmes that aim to invest in children's free time during school vacation and provide them with the opportunity to discover their skills, develop their abilities, and provide them with scientific knowledge and practical skills, such as summer and winter camps and spring programmes.

In an effort to develop the skills and energies of members of the Rubu’ Qarn institutions in the world of theatre and performing arts, and invest their energies within the age group from 6 to 31 years; a number of programmes will be implemented during 2024, including the “Theater and Performing Arts” programme, which provides free spaces for participants to express themselves with their talents and creativity, through a number of workshops in different theatre specialisations and performances.

In order to improve children’s skills in the field of science and technology, a series of workshops and programmes have been developed that contribute to creating generations aware of the requirements of future jobs, empowering them with technical skills, and motivating them towards technical and programming creativity, represented by the FLL mobile robots, the Vex IQ robotics programme, and robot makers, in addition to a discovery experience. In addition to conducting scientific experiments, learning critical thinking and problem solving, as well as experiencing the discovery of space and astronomy.

It is worth noting that Sharjah Children implemented more than 165 programmes during 2023 and attracted approximately more than 7144 members in Sharjah Children’s centres, across the city of Sharjah and the central and eastern regions. Programmes were implemented by an elite group of specialists with the aim of developing and investing the energies of their members towards preparing conscious and influential generations.
