Dr Mohammed bin Butti Al Hajri, the Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Old Cars Club, shared feelings about the event, saying, “The Route 71 Rally is more than just a gathering for classic car lovers; it’s a journey that reminds us of the spirit and determination that marked the beginning of our Union. Each part of the rally carries a message of pride in our history and national identity.”
Al Hajri added that this year’s rally aims to showcase the cultural and tourist attractions of Sharjah. He wants to help people appreciate the beauty of the emirate's varied environments—from deserts to beaches to mountains—while providing participants with a fun experience that celebrates national heritage. The goal is to turn car enthusiasm into a way to honor the nation and its leadership.
Participants will focus on enjoying the journey rather than racing to the finish line. Safety is key, and everyone will follow set speeds and times. Each driver will receive an event passport, which will be stamped at every checkpoint along the way. Those who finish will have the chance to take special photos with their cars and receive trophies to commemorate their achievement.
To take part in this rally, interested individuals must pre-register. To qualify, cars must be at least thirty years old and in good working condition. Drivers also need to follow all safety rules, respect road speeds, stick to the designated route, and keep to the scheduled times provided by the club.
The rally will kick off at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 29, 2025, and will continue until 9:00 PM.
