Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Children, affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, concluded its winter camp.
The activities of the winter camp were launched during the period from 9 to 28 December in 13 of its centres spread throughout the city of Sharjah and the central and eastern regions, with the participation of 2116 boys and girls in the age group of 6-12 years.
The camp aimed to expand children's awareness and hone their talents and skills, in addition to enhancing their creative abilities and motivating them to participate and invest their free time during the winter vacation in a way that will benefit them.
The activities of the final week included a package of sports, cultural and entertainment programmes and activities, which were implemented under the supervision of experts and specialists in various fields. Most notably, the “Space Tours” workshop within the science and technology track, during which they learned about the foundations of exploring the fields of space science and space robotics technology.
In the field of theatre, the participants acquired many skills through various workshops, including the “Making Masks” workshop, which introduced them to the art of making theatrical masks, developing their imagination, impersonating characters, and how to perform. Participants also learned about the art of making puppets and moving them during performances.
With the aim of developing the members’ creative skills and increasing their linguistic vocabulary, as well as making them aware of the importance of reading, Writer Maitha Al Khayyat held a workshop, within the workshops of the Arts and Languages track.
