Al Shamsi launches Human Rights Day event

Sharjah24: Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, launched the 2023 Human Rights Day event, themed "Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All."
High-ranking officials attended the event, including Sheikha Najla bint Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Emirates Human Rights Association.

Colonel Mona Suroor Al-Shuwaihi, Head of the Human Rights Team at Sharjah Police, stated during her speech at the celebration that the UAE has incorporated human rights principles and values of justice and equality into its laws and constitution since its inception in order to build a tolerant and multicultural society.

Sheikha Najla Al Qasimi provided a noteworthy session titled "The Role of Human Rights in Enhancing Institutional Quality," emphasising the Emirates Association's experience and efforts at the local, regional, and worldwide levels. The event also highlighted the association's role in putting human rights norms into action.

At the conclusion of the event, Brigadier Abdullah Ibrahim bin Nasr honoured the participants, including Colonel Mona Suroor Al-Shuwaihi, for their contributions to the event's success and attainment of its objectives.
