Sultan bin Ahmed witnesses Shams - Gen.G Esports signing of MoU

The MoU was signed by Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City “Shams,” and Arnold Hur, CEO of GenG E-Sports.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding stems from the desire of both sides to strengthen their professional ties in the field of media and technology, and an emphasis on establishing friendly relations and fruitful cooperation between media institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah and their counterparts in South Korea, in a way that serves the common interests of the parties.
The MoU aims to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of media and technology in accordance with the legislation applicable to both parties. It also stipulated that the areas of cooperation would be in building a system for games and electronic sports that takes into account the environment in Sharjah Media City, and helping in launching educational programmes in the field of electronic sports.
During his visit to the headquarters of GenG E-Sports, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, learned about the company’s history, its most prominent achievements, the awards it achieved, and the future projects it is working on in the e-sports sector.

He also reviewed the areas and plans that the Gen.G Elite Esports Academy is working on, including various programmes for different age groups and stages, with a focus on systematic training, developing personal skills, exploring science and technology, and providing opportunities for students to learn, develop, and achieve.

The meeting included a conversation about joint opportunities in the e-sports sector, and ways to enhance them in a way that serves both parties and contributes to reaching larger segments, with a focus on combining entertainment and knowledge and developing players’ skills in a way that keeps pace with modern technologies.

During his visit, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah was accompanied by Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City “Shams”; Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau; Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary General of the Sharjah Media Council; and Rashid Abdullah Al Obed, Director of Sharjah Media City “Shams”, and Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
