Sharjah 24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, visited, Thursday morning, in the South Korean capital, Seoul, the Korean Virtual Reality Augmented Reality Complex (KoVAC)
At the outset of his visit, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was briefed on the work of the complex aimed at developing Artificial Intelligence and metaverse technologies, as well as media and scientific content. The idea of the complex is based on integrating education, science and entertainment to produce an augmented reality that contributes to the development of content and business.

During his tour, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed learned about many of the experiments being developed by the complex and was familiarised with the Metaverse section, which is a space that supports the full growth of companies working in the field of the Metaverse, starting from the stages of operation, education, and infrastructure, to production, business, and marketing. 

The complex includes an augmented reality theatre and showroom, a corporate support centre, education halls, a production support centre, and a joint production centre dedicated to supporting infrastructure technology for producing realistic content. It also includes studios for augmented reality programmes.

Moreover, the complex contains a permanent exhibition to display augmented reality achievements, content experience, business programme operation, and of display modern programmes for medical fields using augmented reality technology.

During his visit, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah was accompanied by Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City “Shams”; Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau; Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary General of the Sharjah Media Council; Rashid Abdullah Al Obed, Director of Sharjah Media City “Shams”; and Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
