Sharjah 24: In honour of the UAE's 52nd Union Day, "Sharjah Children," affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, organised programmes for 2000 children and visitors in a joyful and entertaining setting. Children and the audience participated in the activities that promoted patriotism and national culture. The festivities took place at Sharjah's central, eastern, and Kshisha Parks.
In partnership with artist Azza Al Qubaisi, the centres organised several creative art workshops, including "Palm Tree Trunk." Arts were introduced into UAE culture and history through this programme. Children made palm leaf paintings. In another programme, "Ghaf Tree," hosted with the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, children learned about the Ghaf tree, its advantages, and its original UAE heritage.
In the "Art of Al-Sarood" session, children drew and coloured Al Sarood while learning about the purposes of this craft. In the "Let's Create an Emirati Story" class, children developed short stories utilising UAE heritage vocabulary and meanings.
