Sharjah24: Approximately 50 members of the Al-Thiqah Club for the Disabled in Sharjah, accompanied by their families and supervisors, embarked on an excursion from Sharjah International Airport. Their destination is the sacred lands of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where they plan to participate in the revered rituals of Umrah.
This Umrah pilgrimage is orchestrated in collaboration with the Sharjah Charity International, Sharjah Charity House, and the family of the late Jassem Al-Mudfa, showcasing the club's commitment to partnering with charitable entities and individuals in Sharjah. The primary goal is to nurture religious and spiritual values among the club's diverse membership, comprising around 50 individuals with disabilities.

Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Thiqah Club for the Disabled, affirmed the club's dedication to cultivating various facets of sports, culture, and social activities for its members. The Umrah undertaking is aligned with the board's vision, designed to enrich the religious values of the members by facilitating visits to sacred places, breaking social isolation, and fostering integration into the wider community. Bin Khadem expressed appreciation for all those who contributed, acknowledging the positive psychological impact this journey holds for the disabled members.

Counselor Humaid Ali Al-Abaar, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Club and Head of the Marketing and Resource Development Committee, outlined that this Umrah excursion is part of the club's broader initiative. The aim is to acquaint members with sacred locations, allowing them to engage in Umrah rituals and explore significant religious sites in Mecca. The itinerary includes visits to places such as Mina, Arafat, the facility producing the Kiswa (covering) of the Kaaba, the Museum of the Two Holy Mosques, and more. Al Abaar emphasised that the journey spans four nights in Mecca and two days in Medina. Lectures on the importance and benefits of performing Umrah were arranged for club members during the trip. He conveyed gratitude to the supportive entities that made this meaningful journey possible.
