SSC honours cultural race champions on October 14

Sharjah 24: The organising committee of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) cultural race decided to hold the closing ceremony to honour the winners on October 14. The race saw wide participation from clubs and institutions at the UAE level, in the age groups between 7 and 17 years.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Yasi, Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Committee; and was attended by Yasser Omar Al Dokhi, Race Director; members Ahmed Al Salman, Shehab Ahmed Al Awadhi, Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi, Hani Mohammed Al Qasim, and Rapporteur Mohammed Salah. 

During the meeting, a committee was formed to supervise the arrangements for the closing ceremony, and approve the list of honourees that will include the first place winners, the sponsoring institutions and companies, the personality of the race and members of the organising committee. 

The report of the Coordination, Follow-up and Arbitration Committee was also reviewed, and it was decided to prepare an online link for the event that expresses the identity of the race in the coming years, with the creation of a category for the best participating club, and a category for the club that wins the most titles.

Al Yasi stated after the meeting, that the event was relaunched after an absence of three years to confirm its importance. 

Al Yasi thanked SSC for providing all guarantees of success, he also thanked the members of the judging and evaluation committee for the efforts they made during the last period, stressing that the committee will continue to develop the race categories, o gain greater participation and achieve its cultural impact among most segments of society.

It is noteworthy that the race included competitions onn the Holy Quran, sports culture, theatrical performances, Arabic calligraphy, short stories, photography, digital content creation, newspaper articles and television commentary. Participation rate was 70% of nationals and 30% of residents.
