UOS organises introductory meeting with SCFA

Sharjah 24: The University of Sharjah organised an introductory with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), at the university’s headquarters, with the aim of serving the community and the Emirati family integrating the university scientific role, research team, and SCFA expertise.
The meeting was attended by Her Excellency Dr. Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla, Chairperson of the Family Affairs Authority, Secretary General of SCFA; His Excellency Professor Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah; His Excellency Moudhi Al Shamsi, Head of the Family Development Department and its branches; Her Excellency Salha Ghabish, Head of the Cultural and Media Office; Ms. Iman Rashid, Director of the Health Education Department; and Ms. Hanadi Al Yafei, Director of the Child safety Department; in addition to  officials of the university’s research and scientific departments, and heads of the SCFA departments.

 The introductory meeting discussed the role of SCFA played in society and the family in terms of deepening the bonds of family cohesion, preserving the family entity and identity, and supporting values that the wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SCFA, is keen on. The meeting also discussed the role of the University of Sharjah in scientific research, enhancing programmes, supporting academic achievement, improving training, caring for the family and its members, and enabling institutions and associations to benefit from everything that the research centres within the university are working on.

Her Excellency Dr. Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla said that the meeting comes within the framework of establishing relations and cooperation between the University of Sharjah and the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah in an effort to advance the Emirati family, especially the educational, health, therapeutic, social and psychological aspects, child needs from early stages to development.

Her Excellency Dr. Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla stressed that this introductory meeting comes in line with the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and in line with the vision and strategy of the Council, which aims to provide a decent life for all members of society, and improve the quality of social services in the Emirate of Sharjah; and the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, always directs work to stimulate the building of a human being capable of serving the society in different fields.

Her Excellency Dr. Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla added that SCFA is working diligently to strengthen the partnership and integration with the University of Sharjah and with many other entities and bodies, aiming at activating the role of responsibility, achieving community cohesion, and raising the highest standards of quality of services targeting the family, children and society in general, especially within the Emirate of Sharjah. 

During the meeting, His Excellency Professor Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi welcomed Her Excellency Dr. Khawla Al Mulla, and the accompanying delegation, stressing that the University of Sharjah is working in accordance with a strategic plan set by the University President, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, which requires building bridges of cooperation with local institutions with the aim of serving and developing the community, indicating that the university will work to enhance ways of cooperation with SCFA and provide all necessary forms of support in the field of preparing studies, projects and applied scientific research aimed at improving the quality of life and health of community members, and contributing to finding innovative solutions to community issues, in addition to exchanging experiences and knowledge and holding conferences and joint events related to family and public health issues.

  Her Excellency Salha Ghabish, Head of the Council’s Cultural and Media Office, said that the office promotes societal values, especially since Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi always pays attention to youth.
